Handover inspection
A handover inspection is an inspection of the turbine when it is handed over from the manufacturer to the final owner. It is normally carried out once the turbine is in operation and has completed its first 72- or 200-hour test run.
Why get a handover inspection?
We recommend a handover inspection even if a long-term service agreement is in place. Many suppliers are involved when a modern turbine is erected, and it is important to make sure everything has been delivered and installed correctly and works together.
We usually carry out the inspection together with the manufacturer’s project manager, so faults and defects are found and fixed as quickly as possible.
The inspection is a visual review of the turbine from foundation to blade tip. You get a picture of the turbine’s condition and whether it is a complete delivery.
If there are several turbines in the park, the faults we find can be fixed straight away in the others.
Having an impartial inspection agreed also has a preventive effect. Ideally it is agreed when the purchase contract is signed.
