We also know of policies that cover damage that has developed over time, provided it starts from within and cannot be detected before it happens.

As turbines age, new types of damage appear. Many will be fatigue and wear damage, but many will also be covered by the machinery insurance.

How we help

We inspect the damaged components together with the insurer’s loss adjuster. The parts are examined closely to reconstruct the course of the damage step by step, so the real cause is found and the case can be settled on the most correct basis possible.

There can be tiny traces on the components that have to be compared to work out the order of events. This usually requires fully dismantling the damaged parts in a workshop.

We have attended many inspections on behalf of turbine owners. Usually the cause is clear, but several times we have seen the course of the damage differently from the loss adjuster.

You can attend the inspection yourself or leave it all to us. We cannot, of course, guarantee a particular outcome.

When damage has happened

Contact us as early as possible if you are unsure about insurance cover. The sooner we are involved, the better we can make sure the evidence is preserved and the case proceeds in the right order.
